It’s fall on the calendar, that means it’s Apple season. This year, in Pythagoras Academy Kindergarten, we have included measurement using non-standard units into our Apple Unit. Using a balance, we put an apple on one side, and filled up the bucket on the other side with various objects, several times. Even though this hands-on activity had core academic skills the students were far too engaged to notice that they were working. It felt like play!

Measurement is a core math skill and our PA teachers continue to develop students’ measurement skills through a wide variety of methods.
